Obituary of John Pizzimenti

John Pizzimenti, 83, passed away January 12th 2013, after a long term illness. He was born in Calabria, Italy, grew up in Brooklyn and spent most of his life on Staten Island. John was a Korean War veteran. He enjoyed a 35 year career at AT&T. John's greatest joy in life was his family and he treasured the precious time spent together. He also had a great passion for gardening and was known throughout the neighborhood for his fig trees.
He was predeceased by his parents, Gioia and Pasquale; and his siblings; Maria, Grace, Concetta, Antonio, Dominick, Gioia and Pasquale. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gilda; his two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and John Ciavattoni of Manalapan and Diane and Roberto Ordonez of Weston, CT; and his six grandchildren, Anthony, Nicole, John, Jacqueline, Tico and Christopher.
Family and friends are invited to visit Monday January 14th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, Jan. 15th, at 10 AM, at St. Thomas More Church, Manalapan. Interment will follow at Holmdel Cemetery, Holmdel.
