Obituary of Roslynn Ronan
Please share a memory of Roslynn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Roslynn E. Ronan (Roz), 80, of Manalapan, passed away on August 27, 2018 at Centra State Medical Center in Freehold, NJ. She was born in Jersey City, NJ and resided in Lake Parsippany, Kearney, and Irvington prior to calling Manalapan, NJ home for the past 50 years.
Roslynn was a devoted wife, caring mother, loving sister and friend to many. She was active in the community for decades as a volunteer at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church, where she never missed the weekly bingo games; Team Mother for countless sports teams, always handy with sliced oranges and drinks during and after the game; and worked closely with the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) for the local school system, involved in helping to shape the future for her children.
Roslynn shared her love for cooking, animals and the New York Yankees with the masses. For those who knew Roslynn, the refrigerators were always packed with enough food to feed an army; a dog or a cat (or both) always by her side; and the Yankees game on the television, always ready and able to step in as the manager if called upon. There is one thing that surpassed Roslynn's love for cooking, animals, and the Yankees -- the passion she had for her family, which will remain strong for eternity.
She was predeceased by her husband Donald and sister Eileen of Ft. Myers, FL. Roslyn is survived by daughter Margaret (Peggy) and her husband David of Commack, NY.; son Patrick and his wife Kimberly of Winnetka, IL; sister Roberta and her husband Frank of Lakewood, NJ; and grandchildren Matthew, Sarah, Charlie and Reese.
Friends and family are invited to the viewing on Saturday September 1, 2018 from 9:30am-10:30am at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. A graveside service will be held on Saturday September 1, 2018 at 11 am at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery. Interment will follow at the St. Rose of Lima Cemetery.
