Obituary of Allison Hazel Orfanidis

Allison H. Orfanidis, 61 of Jacksonville, Florida, formerly of Manalapan, passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2012, at the McGraw Community Hospice Center. Born in Mineola, NY, she resided in Manalapan for over 22 years while raising her family, before moving to Jacksonville six years ago. She was a former communicant of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Manalapan where she taught religious education to the parish children. Allison was a member of the Manalapan-Englishtown School Board from 1991 to 1999, serving as vice president from 1995 to 1996 and president from 1996 to 1998. She was also active in the township schools with the various PTA's.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Nicholas; her children and their spouses, Dr. Nicholas and Stephanie Orfanidis of Wynnewood, PA and Danielle Orfanidis of Red Bank; her mother, Hazel Hnatuk of Naples, FL; her siblings and their spouses, William and Dawn Hnatuk Jr. of Trumbull, CT and Lynn and Michael Clair of Naples, FL; and two nieces and six nephews.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, May 31st, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at on Friday, June 1st, at 10 AM at St. Thomas More Church, Manalapan. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
