Obituary of Harry J Mount

Harry J. Mount, 80, of Freehold passed away on Friday, May 25, 2018 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. He was born in New Brunswick and raised in Englishtown before settling in Freehold 57 years ago. Harry was a bus driver for the Freehold Regional Bus District. He was a graduate of Jamesburg High School. He is survived by his loving wife Mabel Beal; his daughter, Susan Lord; his sons and daughters-in-law, Harry Scott and Lee Lee and Stephen James and Christine and 7 grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm and Wednesday from 9-10 am with a funeral service at 10 am. Interment will follow at Old Tennent Cemetery, Manalapan. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to either St. Rose of Lima Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold, NJ 07728 or Morganville United Methodist Church, 215 Conover Road, Morganville, NJ 07751.
During his younger years, Harry was a member of the Englishtown Fire Company and First Aid. He worked for Bayonne Steel and was the manager for the Town House Motel and Coach Four Restaurant for 31 years. He was also the second shift head of housekeeping at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. Harry received his commercial driver's license and began driving school buses for the Colts Neck Board of Education and for the Freehold Regional High School District. Over time he finally became head bus driver for the Freehold Regional High School Board of Education. He greatly enjoyed the students as well as his coworkers. Harry loved driving anything with four or more wheels. He also enjoyed snowmobiling in New York and Canada with family, travelling to baseball games, attending NASCAR races and chewing cigars. He also leaves behind his three sisters, Janet and James McAvoy, Carolyn Sheridan and Catherine Fariello, many nieces and nephews, a plethora of friends and wonderful neighbors.
