Obituary of Maria Louise Burgess

Heaven gained the most cherished wife, mother and grandmother when Maria Louise "Mary Lou" Burgess (Marzo) of Jackson Township passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the age of 75, at Jersey Shore Medical Center while surrounded by her beloved and heartbroken family. Born to Frank and Louise Marzo in Brooklyn, New York in 1942, Mary Lou met and married her beloved husband, John, in 1970. They raised their three children in Old Bridge, where they lived for 30 years before moving to Jackson Township in 2008. Mary Lou was always the center of her family, moving mountains and giving tirelessly of herself to ensure their every happiness. Mary Lou is survived by John, her husband of 48 years, and their three grateful children and their families, who were all blessed because of her: Christine and Justin Walter of Chatham, and their children Colton and Cameron; Jennifer and Gerard Acquaviva of Millstone Twp., and their children Bianca, Amanda, Ella, Matthew and Jake; and Michael Burgess of Old Bridge and his son, Jackson. Mary Lou's grandchildren were the lights of her life bringing her endless love, pride and happiness. Mary Lou is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Marlene Marzo of Manalapan, and her nieces and their spouses, along with her three great-nieces and her great-nephew who will always cherish their years of memories with their "Aunt Mary Lou". Friends and other family members far too numerous to mention hold Mary Lou close in their hearts and will miss her always. Family and friends are invited to celebrate this amazing woman who blessed so many lives on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Millstone Twp.
