Obituary of Ellen Chan
Ellen Chan was born on September 4, 1930 in Chinatown, New York. She lived at 36 Mott Street and attended PS 23 and Washington Irving High School. She worked at National City Bank in Manhattan before marrying Edward Chan in 1954. They moved to North Babylon, New York where she worked at the Bank of Babylon before raising five daughters; Bernice, Laura, Jennifer, Christine and Pamela. She also worked at Macy's Department Store for 20 years and retired in 1993. In 2001 they moved to Marlboro, New Jersey. She is survived by her husband Edward Chan; 5 daughters and sons-in-law, Bernice and Richard D'Addario, Laura and John Walsh, Jennifer and Robb Gaskins, Christine and Jeff Ben-Ezra and Pamela and Ben Singer; 12 grandchildren, Lia D'Addario, Eric D'Addario, Amanda (Patrick) Campbell, Sarah Walsh, Ryan Walsh, Leo Gaskins, Geoffrey Gaskins, Samantha Ben-Ezra, Michayla Ben-Ezra, Daria Ben-Ezra, Zachary Singer, and Natasha Singer and great granddaughter, Claire Chan Campbell.
