Obituary of Susanne Sansevere

Susanne (Everett) Sansevere died on December 25, 2017 after a brief illness. A nurse for more than fifty years, Susanne was a graduate of St. Francis School of Nursing in Jersey City. She received her BSN from Jersey City University, and her Masters from NYU. She worked at St. Francis Hospital and School of Nursing for nearly forty years, as well as St. Mary's Hospital in Hoboken. Susanne worked until her retirement in 2014 as the Director of Health Programs at Hudson County Community College. Her love of nursing and nurses was a source of great pride, especially when she would meet one of her former student nurses. Susanne was predeceased by her parents, George and Regina Everett, and her brother George. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Deacon Stephen Sansevere; her sisters Margaret (John) Mastropietro, and Regina (Gerard) McGraw; her brother-in-law Larry (Ann) Sansevere; her nieces and nephews: John P. (Donna) Mastropietro, Amie (Brian) Glasser, Brian (Devin) McGraw, David (Jennifer) Mastropietro, Sean (Kimberly) McGraw, and Michael Sansevere. She is also survived by many grand-nieces and nephews: Jason, Johnny, Justin, and Joshua Mastropietro, Samantha and Michael Mastropietro, Olivia Glasser, and Matthew Perkins; along with her aunt and Uncle Raymond and Gloria Burke, and her aunt Joan McDermitt; and numerous cousins and friends. Susanne was the 2017 Irish Woman of the Year for the Jersey City Emerald Society, and a communicant of St. Gabriel's Church, and a member of the Altar Rosary society. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to either the St. Vincent DePaul Society of St. Gabriel's, or St. Dominic's Academy in Jersey City. Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday December 28 from 2:00 to 7:00 PM at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. Friends and family will meet at the (Main) Church of St. Gabriel, Marlboro, to celebrate a mass on Friday, December 29 at 11:00 AM. Entombment will follow at St. Gabriel's Mausoleum, Marlboro.
