Obituary of Sandra E Katz

Sandra "Sandy" Gelb Katz, 65, of Freehold Township, passed away on December 4, 2017. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, she grew up in Union, NJ, and was a graduate of Union High School. She was a long-time resident of Little Silver, before moving to Long Branch, and later Freehold. Sandy received her Bachelor's Degree from Case Western Reserve University, and later completed her Master's Degree. She was an avid reader, supporter of the Arts, Jewish Family Services, and an animal lover. She was predeceased by her parents, and is survived by her daughter, Robyn Katz and son, Judson Katz. She will be greatly missed by her children, sister Tree Stuber, and brother Steven Gelb. There will be a ceremony celebrating Sandy's life in April 2018. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to Free Arts NYC (empowers underserved youth through art and mentoring programs to develop their creativity, confidence, and skills to succeed) or Wings of Rescue (flies animals from high-kill shelters to no-kill shelters from where they have all been adopted into loving homes).
