Obituary of Harold Rostislav Chlup

Harold Rostislav Chlup, 74, of Marlboro Township died on Friday, September 29, 2017. Born in St. Andrew, Jamaica. He formerly resided in Belize, Central America and Jamaica before immigrating to the United States in 1977. He lived in Florida and Texas before finally making New Jersey his home. Prior to his retirement he was an Assistant Brewmaster at Anheuser Busch in Newark. He was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Freehold. Harold is a retired master gardener of Monmouth County as well as, a member of the Master Brewer’s Association of the Americas. He was a naturalist who loved birds, flowers and all creatures, great and small.
Harold is survived by his loving wife Marylin D. Chlup (nee Geddes); his daughter Natalie (nee Chlup) and son-in-law Jim Baker of Woolwich, NJ. His daughter Dr. Dominique T. Chlup of College Station, TX and his son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Paul H. and Heather Chlup of Atlanta, GA. His siblings, Gregory Chlup of Kenner, LA., and Anna Willis of Belize City, Belize, and 5 grandchildren, Alex, William, Lucas, Liam, and Finlay.
A funeral service will be Saturday, October 7th at 11 am at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Freehold. Entombment will follow at Marlboro Mausoleum, Marlboro. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 31 Throckmorton Street, Freehold, NJ 07728 or to a charity of your choice.
