Obituary of Bernard H Fuhrman

Bernard H. Fuhrman, 82 years old, of Matawan, New Jersey passed away on October 7, 2016. The youngest of four children, he was born in Norwalk, Connecticut to Charles and Dora Fuhrman on March 21, 1934. He was raised in Riverhead and Brooklyn, NY where his father owned several bakeries. He received an accounting degree from Brooklyn College in 1956 and a law degree from Brooklyn Law School in 1962. He married Marion Korn in January of 1958 in Brooklyn and they moved to Matawan in 1966, purchasing the home they still live in today. He ran a successful corporate law practice in Manhattan and served as a town councilman in Old Bridge Township. He will be lovingly remembered by family and friends for his immense generosity, his brilliant mind, his biting wit and perseverance with overcoming a childhood bout with polio. He was an avid sports fan, which included a deep passion for horseracing and followed current events with an intensity matched by few. He is predeceased by his sister, May and his brother, Nat. He is survived by his sister, Helen, his wife, Marion of 59 years; his four children, Leslee of Brooklyn and David, Eric and Steven, all of Salt Lake City and 10 grandchildren.
