Obituary of Robert Garry

Robert A. Garry, 89, of Freehold Township, died Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. Born in Newark, he has resided in Freehold Township for the past 40 years. He was an engineer for Walsh Laundry Machinery before retiring 10 years ago. Robert was a U.S. Navy veteran who fought for his country during WWII. He was a member of Temple Shaari Emeth, Manalapan. He is also lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews as well as the "adopted" children who called him Grandpa Bob. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Estelle (Torchy) in 2015. Surviving are his two sons and daughter-in-law, Steven Richard of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl and Bruce Michael and his wife Elise of Freehold; his daughter and son in-law, Diane Garry Lechner and her husband Bart of Freehold; his brother Gerry Gittleman of East Windsor and four grandchildren, Adam and his fiancé, Jennifer Barkalow, Spencer, Shane and Skylar. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 19th at the Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. Interment will follow at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Woodbridge.
