Some of my favorite memories of Joe are from the Saker golf outings,when he would deliver a catchy monologue with his wit and pure showmanship presentation...Everyone who attended looked forward most to that time of the evening when Joe would entertain us as only he knew how...He will always be greatly missed but will forever leave an imprint on our hearts...God Bless Joe and The Saker Family, our thoughts and prayers are with them...

It is with deepest sadness to learn of Joe's passing. Although I never had the pleasure of meeting the man myself - I have met and work for his incredible sons. Mr Saker has left an indelible mark in this world by raising such wonderful children and I am proud to say that I am employed by the Saker family. There was a get together for me the night before I left to go to Viet Nam. Joe called me aside in private and asked if I am ok. I nodded and said I would be. He looked at me squarely gave me a solid hand shake and bade me off on my journey. He said, "Please, please stay safe we will all be concerned till you get home to us again." To all who loved Joe, my deepest sympathy. I shall never forget him. From our first meeting in the seventies when he was a guest on my radio program, through the many New Year's Eves when I was a guest in his home, enjoying his warmth, humor and hospitality, until exactly a year ago when I was at Meridian Rehab and visited him, sharing smiles and memories. Joe was a rare individual and it was he who introduced me to a special wine. I shall always drink it on New Years, toastng him and the wonderful memories we shared. Rest in peace, my friend. Sorry to hear of the death of Joe. I and my family owe Joe a lot. After years of not knowing, I found out from Father Hammond years later, that it was Joe who had completely furnished my family's home on Patton St., after our home had burned down and we lost everything. He did this with instructions that no one was to know who did it. It was many years later in Vermont at now Mr Hammond's home that I asked and got the answer as to whom our benefactor was. Joe was a very generous person who did not seek credit for the good thing he did for others. He will be greatly missed.
