We were extremely shocked to hear the news yesterday. Our sincerest condolences on the loss of a great man (husband, father, friend, family member, etc). Marty will be sorely missed not only at home, but also in the hockey community. Since the beginning of Alex's hockey career, we have had the pleasure to play with and against Foxy, which is a big deal with both of our sons being netminders. But no matter what team the 2 boys played on, the special bond the Rivera's had with Fox's was always untouchable. A lot is to be said for having sons who are goalies. The 2 boys have an amazing bond, and as parents of goalies, only we can fully understand what that role entails, so the goalie parent bond was always just as strong (I mean who else could understand how crazy we are for willingly letting our sons get pucks fired at them). One thing I do know though, is that no matter what team Alex played on, or what team John played on, during the games, we could be found talking to Marty. Marty always had this smile on his face, one that was very infectious, to go along with his happy go lucky attitude. Marty will be greatly missed, and only the people who knew him, and his entire family, could understand what an immeasurable loss this is. We are extremely honored to be able to call Marty, and the rest of the Fox family, our friends. May Marty rest in peace, and may the Fox's find peace and healing in the days, weeks, months to come. Just know, the Rivera's are here for you whenever you need us. Love you guys!!
