Obituary of John Irving Cullen

John "Jack" Cullen, 80, of Freehold Borough, passed away on Monday, May 2nd, 2016, at home surrounded by his loving family. Jack was born in Long Branch, NJ. He served in the US Army from 1958-1960 and was stationed in Germany. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus council #1672 and the Freehold American Legion Post 54. Prior to his retirement he was a postal supervisor for the Freehold Borough Post Office, he then was a courier for Progressive Title in Freehold, for 7 years. In his spare time, Jack enjoyed playing in many dart leagues in the area. Jack was predeceased by his brother, James. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Dawn; three children and their spouses, Leanne and Michael Haefner-Gravatt of Freehold, Eileen and Joseph Hurd of New Egypt, and Scott and Melissa Cullen of Wall; his sister, Midge Neiberlien of Manasquan; sister-in-law, Maryanne Cullen of Freehold; his 7 Grandchildren, Jessica Gravatt, Paul, John and Joseph Hurd, Braeden, Jackson and Emerson Cullen; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Maggie. Family and friends are invited to visit Wednesday and Thursday, May 4th & 5th, from 3 to 7 PM, at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 E Main St, Freehold. A funeral liturgy will be held Friday at 10 AM at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold. Interment will follow at the parish's cemetery.
