Obituary of Lucille Polacek-Pearson

Lucille "Tootsie" Polacek-Pearson, 86, of Ocala, Florida, formerly of Staten Island, passed away on September 17, 2012, at Estelle's Hospice in Ocala. Born and raised on Staten Island, she lived there until moving to Florida 24 years ago. She was a bookkeeper for Grief Brothers on Staten Island before retiring in 1988. She was predeceased by her first husband, John Polacek Sr. in 1976 and her son, John Polacek Jr. in 2009. She is survived by her husband, Horton Pearson; her two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and James Bushnell and Cheryl and George Holmes; her three stepsons and their spouses, Jackie and Judy Pearson, Gene and Carolyn Pearson, and Roy and Theresa Pearson; her two siblings, Andrew Merkler and Jean Blum; nine grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. Family and friends may visit on Monday, Sept. 24th, from 5:00 to 9:00 PM, at the Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, Sept. 25th, at 10:00 AM, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, Lincroft. Interment will follow at Moravian Cemetery, Staten Island. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Estelle's Hospice.
