Obituary of Dorothy M. Higley

Dorothy Kelsey Higley, 84, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2016. Dorothy (Dot) was a lifelong resident of Freehold. She is the daughter of the late James and Mary (Gosson) Kelsey. Dorothy worked for the Federal Government before retiring in 1996. She is predeceased by her one true love, her husband, Cliff in 1979 and 10 siblings, James, Ray, Mary, Eugene, William, Lorraine (Buble), Frank, Elizabeth, Yvonne (Cook) and Robert.
Dorothy's love for life, positive outlook and fun and generous spirit was a gift to everyone who knew her. Her greatest joy of all was her family.
Dorothy is survived by her five children, Kathy (Joe) Cardell, Jim (Lois) Higley, Ginger (Bryan) Hrycyk, Bob and Ed (Dolores) Higley. Known as the best "Mom-Mom", she is also survived by nine grandchildren, Chris Cardell, Sandy (Jesse) Giard, Bryan (Maureen) McKenna, Cristen (Howard) Gallin, Sean (Victoria), Eric (Stevie) and Laura Hrycyk, Jordan and Benjamin Higley. Four great-grandchildren, Grace and Maddie Mckenna and Jack and Casey Gallin. Two siblings Joan and Margaret (Higley). Six sister-in-laws, Dorothea, Rose, Aline and Helene Kelsey, Andrea Sinansky-Higley and Barbara Higley Olivacz. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Dorothy left behind many wonderful friends, especially her amazing, loving, sister, Margaret (Magg) and her lifelong, cherished friend, Jackie Tabacsko.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, January 29th, from 4 - 8 PM at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12 PM on Saturday, January 30th, at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.
