Sincere condolences to Jerry's family . He was one of a kind , a unique & remarkable man . I had the pleasure of interacting both professionally & personally . My fondest memories was playing cards with Jerry for many years. He was the ultimate optomist , very seldom dropping from a hand . He was a delight to be around & will be sorely missed the group. Unfortunately I will not be able to pay my respects in person , as I am home bound , recuperating from surgery . Rest in Peace my friend .

The absolute best manager I worked for as an RO. Gerry hired me in 1974. Then I worked with him as my GM for my first few years on the job. My absolute best years as a RO. I couldn't believe I was being paid just to work for him. We laughed every day. We learned every day. My condolences to the family but just remember that Gerry was a wonderful man and everyone found it a joy just to be in his presence. His smile, exhuberence and spirit have never been replaced since he retired. He will always be missed by those who knew and worked with him. He remains an iconic generational figure for all who who he interacted with him on the job. We still tell Gerry stories today. He will always be alive in our heart.

I am sorry for the loss of your dear Gerry. During times like this our God gives each one of us a very real hope of actually enjoying life with our passed loved ones once again right here on this good earth. At John 5:28 and 29 Jesus himself tells us that those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out to a resurrection of life, similar to how he resurrected his friend Lazarus. Lazarus was resurrected back to life on earth. That is in harmony with God's original purpose for humans, to "fill the earth and subdue it". (Genesis 1:28) God's original purpose for humans has not changed. To see our passed loved ones again on a beautified earth is a hope few dare to dream about, much less firmly believe in. This hope has helped me get through some tough times and I hope it helps you now. When some time has passed, and the Witnesses knock on your door, they will be happy to provide more comfort from the Bible. Again, I am sorry for your loss. MN

Jerry was undoubtedly one of the most exuberant persons I have known. I met him in Newark in 1974 when I was a Revenue Officer trainee and he was detailed to Special Procedures. While I lived and worked in the Atlantic City area and he was mostly a North Jersey kinda guy, our paths crossed several times. He was the undisputed authority of good places to eat - even in Atlantic City. He always had great stories. He was an excellent photographer and I still have a winter photo he took down here when he was an acting Group Manager. He was very proud of his daughter and I'm sure his grandson was a joy to him. I'm sorry I won't get to meet you again in life, Jerry. I'll think of you often though, I'm sure.

I met Jerry in 1965 which is when I began my career with IRS. We socialized on NAIRE tours arranged by Teresa Marinelli. Jerry awed me with his knowledge of excellent Italian restaurants and the preferred dish served at each one. Upon my engagement I asked Jerry to be our photographer and I show off the wonderful album that he created for us. We became managers at about the same time and at one of the training sessions be gave me the nickname that I still smile when I think of it. "double yolk" When our Branch Chief developed an ulcer he named it His Jerry which was a tribute to Jerry's sense of humor and quick wit. I will be unable to attend the services but extend condolences.

With heartfelt condolences and kindest thoughts to Gerry's family in your time of sorrow. I will always remember my dear friend and co-worker, who I met in 1966; his smiles, laughter and the grand times we had over the years. I enjoyed our last time together when he visited me at the VA hospital last year. I regret that I will be unable to attend his final farewell as I am visiting family in Florida. Rest in peace, my dear friend, until we meet again in a better place and time.
