Obituary of Jean Renee Dobbs

Jean R. Dobbs, 91, of Lakewood, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2012, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. Born in New Brunswick, she has resided in Lakewood for over 65 years. She was a proud WWII Navy veteran. Jean was an administrative assistant and bookkeeper for a medical office in Lakewood until she retired. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack, in 1998, and her son, Harvey, in 2008. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Robert Sawyer of Manalapan; daughter-in-law, Wendy Dobbs of Manalapan; her sister, Ruth Sackowitz of Monroe; four grandchildren, Cary, Stacey, Seth and Skylar; and four great grandchildren, Jack, Max, Samuel and Wyatt. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM today at the Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan. Interment will follow at Floral Park Cemetery, Monmouth Junction. The family will sit Shiva Sunday through Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM at the Sawyer home.
