Dear Peggy and family, We’re so sorry for the loss of Barney. Since we live in Delaware, his services were already over when we found out he had passed away otherwise we would have been there. Barney was a true gentleman and a great guy. I had the privilege of meeting him when he became my baseball coach in 1956 for two years with the Little League Cardinals. My manager was Bill Bresnahan, his brother-in-law. We had a lot of great memories even winning the championship under Barney and Bill’s guidance. In 1984 when I was an adult, I got lucky enough to coach his great nephew, Bobby Bresnahan Jr., and our team, the Phillies, won the championship. I became a police officer in Freehold Borough and one of my daily stops on foot patrol was at Barney’s barber shop. You never knew when you walked in the door who was going to be sitting in his chair. It could be my Chief, Captain, Lt. or my dad or grandfather. Growing up and being an officer in the borough I knew so many people and Barney DiBenedetto was truly one of the greatest men who ever walked the streets of the borough. He was always smiling. Barney you will truly be missed. I love you. Fortunately, I saw Peggy and Barney when we were in NJ this past April. I feel blessed to have seen him one last time. With deepest sympathy, Kenny & Judy Collins

Peggy, we're so sorry to hear about Barney. Thinking of him brings back memories of ''The track'', ''The shop'' and ''The bowling alley" . We enjoyed the humor he shared even when we were the butt of his jokes. If life were a card game, he would be ''The Joker''. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and the family. Bob and Pat Wish

Mr. DiBenedetto will be missed by many. For years he went to Joe Murphy's,my father-in-law, home to cut his hair; he cut my husband's hair as well as gave my son his first haircut. I vividly recall his response when my my son, fearfully asked, "mommy, why is that man cutting holes in that man's hair?" Barney thought he was being fresh until he realized he was just afraid of leaving the shop with a bald spot. Peace to you and your family.

I only have the greatest memories of Barney. I enjoyed the wonderful conversations about Politics and Sports with him at the Barber Shop. He was such a giving man and with time of the essence I needed a haircut for my daughters wedding he volunteered to come in on his day off! Heaven is getting a real gem! All the best to the Dibenedetto family!

Please be assured of the prayers of the SJV family. I have many fond memories over the years of the DiBenedetto family. He truly was a "Lancer" as he followed his children during their four years at SJV.

To the DiBenedetto family, I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. D. I was like his adopted son, considering all the time I spent at his house hanging out and playing hoop with his sons Mike and Joe. He was a great guy and great coach, who I had the pleasure of playing baseball for. I loved talking sports with him and respected his opinions. He always had a quick wit and that great smile, which will surely be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
