As a nurse at Pediatric Health, I remember the very first time Gillian came to our office as a newborn. I told her Mom she was special because she had the same birthday as Jacqueline Kennedy. She became known in her family as Jilly Mack. I watched her grow through the years of office visits from a baby to a beautiful little girl and into a lovely, exquisite young woman. I am retired now, but I remember the last time I saw her in the office. My heart is broken for her and for her family. May she have eternal peace and may her family somehow be able to get through this loss. I will never forget her.

To the Lehrer Family: I was so saddened by the news of your tragic loss. I had the privilege to know Gillian, and be her Spanish teacher at Mater Dei. She was conscientious and hard working; a beautiful young lady who embodied the traits of kindness, compassion, and respect for all. Her enthusiasm was contagious. I had the pleasure of teaching Gillian Basic Algebra while attending Rowan University. Gillian was an absolute pleasure to have in class and worked hard to understand the concepts I was teaching. She would often come see me during my office hours to get the necessary help to succeed. Gillian was always smiling and full of energy. She definitely contributed toward the fun times we had in class and I was honored to have known her. I am so sorry for your loss during this time.

Although I never taught Gillian in any of my classes, she was a frequent presence in my classroom, and volunteered as part of the make-up crew for several of our school plays.
