Obituary of John Raymond Davison
John Raymond “Ray” Davison, 84, of Murrells Inlet, SC passed away at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital on Thursday April 7, 2022.
Ray was born in Neptune, NJ on January 27, 1938 to the late Harriet and Chester Davison.
After graduating High School in Freehold, NJ, he joined the Navy and was stationed at Lakehurst, NJ. After 3 years in the Navy, he left to work with IBM on Project Mercury and Gemini in Bermuda, at Goddard Space Center in Greenbelt, MD and Cape Canaveral, FL.
Ray enjoyed time with family and friends, playing cards with neighbors, and traveling with his family on cruises and several bus tours in Europe. He was always laughing and smiling and really enjoyed keeping in touch with friends and family across the country.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Margaret “Peggy” Saker (George) of Freehold, NJ and Aunt Ann Sherman Wall of Chestertown, MD.
Ray is survived by his loving wife, Margot of 58 years; daughter, Tracey and son Scott (Diana) all residing in Murrells Inlet, SC; nephew, Glenn Saker (Patty) of Manasquan, NJ; niece, Angie Adlington (Gary) of Highland, MD and nephew, Doug Dotson (Nancy) of Watertown, NY; great nieces and nephews, Kaitlyn (Adam), Alex (Jessi), Conner (Kacie), Laurie, Kari, Sarah and Jessica (Keith).
A service will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Hwy, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
The Family will receive friends following the service until 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
